Hi everyone i just want to update you all on the new rules which come into place from today.
This is a summary
Customers in hospitality venues must wear face coverings, except when seated at a table to eat or drink. Staff in hospitality and retail will now also be
required to wear face coverings (from 24 September).
Guidance stating that face coverings and visors should be worn in close contact services will now become law (from 24 September).
Businesses selling food or drink (including cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants), social clubs, casinos, bowling alleys, amusement arcades (and other indoor
leisure centres or facilities), funfairs, theme parks, adventure parks and activities, and bingo halls, must be closed between 10pm and 5am. This will include takeaways but delivery services can
continue after 10pm (from 24 September).
In licensed premises, food and drink must be ordered from, and served at, a table.
Businesses will need to display the official NHS QR code posters so that customers can ‘check-in’ at different premises using this option as an
alternative to providing their contact details once the app is rolled out nationally (from 24 September).
The government’s expectation is the measures described above will need to remain in place until March.
There has been a lot of confusion over the 10pm closing. Michael Gove was on ITV last night saying pubs can serve until 10pm but our licensing and police
are saying we have to be closed and locked up by 10pm. I have questioned this and will update you when i get an answer.
So until further notice the bar will have to shut at 9.30pm from today.
As you know we have been working hard to implement the rules and we will continue to do so but full table service is going to take a couple of weeks while
we put a few more things in place.
So have your mask on when entering, sanitise, sign in then go to your table. You must be seated at all times, no standing around or going from table to
This is very hard time for all the small local pubs so please do your best by supporting them.
Please give this a share
Looking forward to seeing you all
